Padua is a little town on the Bacchiglione River about 25 miles west of Venice, and claims to be the oldest city in Northern Italy. It's fame comes from being the setting for most of the action in Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew." It was a quick stop-over on our way to Venice.
