Quick & Healthy Recipes
"My family's daily schedule is hectic & fast-paced! I'd love to serve them highly nutritious meals, but I just don't have the time. I have to serve them the pre-packaged and canned processed stuff so I have some quality time to spend with my family." I can't tell you how many times I've heard that and it makes me really sad. You CAN prepare good nutritious meals in about the same time (sometimes even less!) as it takes to serve the processed stuff if someone will just take the time to show you the way. That's what this page is all about!
Below I've listed links to recipes my husband and I have adapted, or developed, and used over the years. I've also included holiday recipes that may not be so quick but are not too time consuming (usually a lot of us don't mind spending a little extra time cooking holiday meals!). For example, check out my husband's Thanksgiving, "High-Heat Turkey," recipe. It rivals any deep-fried turkey you've tasted, is far safer, and spoiled me against eating anyone else's prepared turkey. Also, since I firmly believe a picture is worth a thousand words, I've added a picture of the dish itself. Unfortunately, in some cases, I don't have a picture of the dish as we prepared it, so for those I've posted one of the edited ones floating around on the internet; however, as we make them again I'll be sure to replace the "internet-perfect" ones so you can see how the dish actually looks when made at home. Oh, in those cases please be kind about my photography prowess when you see them!
For those recipes we've learned from others I'll be sure to give credit where credit is due. The structure of this page may change so I can keep things well organized for all of you, but my commitment is to keep adding to this page to help everybody find nutritious options for meals that allow for quality family time as well.
